Last Tuesday evening was our annual College Commitment Night. Here’s a recap of the awesome evening where all club players came together to honor our high school seniors moving on to play college soccer. Special thanks to the parents who have supported these players throughout the years and the coaches who trained and molded them. We also want to thank our partners, Zen Sports Speed and The Keeper Institute (TKI) who have helped train many of these players in different aspects of the game. Congratulations to all seniors!

Our final WPSL announcement is Emory Wegener, formerly of the University of Georgia and most recently in the Big 10 as the keeper at the University of Maryland. Emory grew up in Georgia where she played youth soccer first for her church team. She then played for Alpharetta Ambush and eventually moved onto Atlanta Fire United where she played until moving to UGA. Emory has a degree in psychology from UGA and a masters degree in Leadership and Administration from the University of Maryland. Emory will be in the South Jersey area this Summer working as a part of the best goalkeeper training platform in the region - The Keeper Institute! Another SJEB FC alum returns to the club for WPSL summer action. Kayla D’Ottaviano just finished her freshman year at Saint Joseph’s University where she is majoring in biology with a Pre-Med focus. Kayla started her youth soccer in WTWP and started playing for SJEB FC at 8 years of age. Kayla played in the club for 10 years finishing on our 2006 GA team before moving on to college. One more WPSL signing for the day. Returning for a second season with our WPSL team is Allison Tighe. Allison attends the College of the Holy Cross where she will be a rising junior next season. Allison grew up in Haddonfield, NJ and started her youth soccer at the Haddonfield Soccer Club. Goalkeeper, Madie Wessel of Longwood University will be back for another year with our WPSL team. Today we are excited to announce the signing of Abby Bishara of Cornell University Women’s Soccer to our WPSL summer team. Abby is a rising senior at Cornell University where she will be the Captain next fall. Abby is from Western, NY and grew up playing her Youth Soccer for the Clarence Inferno, now Clarence Soccer Club ⚽️. Abby played her club ball at Western New York flash before moving onto Cornell University. Abby is majoring in Applied Economics and Management and will also be interning this summer with Barclays in Delaware. We are excited to add Abby to the squad!

Club alum, Delaney Lappin, formerly of Drexel University women’s soccer and now University of New Hampshire, will be back for a 5th season with our WPSL team. Delaney has been the rock of our WPSL team for the past few years. Delaney grew up in Corbin City, NJ and attended Ocean City HS where she was instrumental in the Ocean City Red Raiders winning their first ever Group 3 State Championship. She played her youth soccer at Upper Township before moving on to the combined club that is now SJEB FC. Delaney holds records at Drexel University for having the most assists in a single game and Total Points. Delaney was named Attacking Player of the Year in 2022 in the CAA for her incredible performance of 12 goals and 3 assists. After her soccer career at Rowan is complete, Sara plans on pursuing a career in teaching. Sara grew up in Haddon Twp., NJ and began playing youth soccer at Haddon Twp Youth Soccer. Announcing another WPSL signing! Sicklerville, NJ native, Caterina Schiavo, of the Saint Francis University Women’s Soccer team will be back playing for our summer WPSL team. Cat, who is a perennial favorite amongst the campers at the Girls Only Camps, is finishing her sophomore year at Saint Francis. Cat started her youth soccer at the Highland Youth Soccer club, playing for the Highland Pulse. Cat played for Highland for 4 years before moving on to SJEB FC where she played as a member of the Girls Academy League. Cat developed her big brain while attending Winslow Twp High School where she was a pivotal part of the girl’s varsity soccer team. She is now balancing her time in college between the women’s soccer program and her studies in Molecular Biology! Cali will be pursuing a Nursing degree at Thomas Jefferson University while simultaneously lacing up the cleats to play for the womens soccer team.
