SJEB FC Welcome Courtney Dougherty to Girls Academy Coaching Staff
SJEB FC are pleased to announce Courtney Dougherty will join SJEB FC as part of our Girls Academy coaching staff at the U15, U16, U17 and U19 girls age groups for the 24/25 season.
Coach Dougherty is in her 14th season on the Stockton University Women’s coaching staff. Dougherty, who has a USSF “C” Coaching License, was elevated to Associate Head Coach in 2023. She has helped the Ospreys to 163 wins during her tenure, which began after concluding her playing career as a four-year starter for the Ospreys in 2009.
As a player at Stockton University, Courtney was a four-time NJAC all-conference selection who was voted NJAC Midfielder of the Year and NSCAA All-Mid Atlantic First Team in 2008. She started all 88 games in which she played and tallied 19 goals and 15 assists for 53 career points while sparking Stockton to four consecutive NCAA Tournament berths.
Coach Dougherty was
inducted into the Stockton Athletics Hall of Fame in 2015. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Stockton in 2010 and obtained her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology in 2012 and doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology in 2017, both from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
An alumni of the SJEB FC program, Courtney played on our W-League (03-06) and 87/88 girls’ team, and knows the history of the club. “I am very excited to have the opportunity to work with such a talented group of Girls’ Academy teams and coaching staff at SJEB FC. I am really looking forward to helping the high-school aged GA teams continue to develop players that strive towards excelling at the next level in college. Within my role, I hope to have a positive impact on helping the GA players maintain their high level of technical and tactical standards while also providing them with an important perspective as a female coach at this stage in their soccer careers”, said Dougherty.

SJEB FC was founded in 1997 as the South Jersey Barons, over the years, the club has merged with South Jersey Elite, Rage SC, NJ Rush and known as SJEB FC. The club has a regional footprint drawing high achieving players from communities throughout South Jersey. SJEB FC is a pre-eminent club in the Mid-Atlantic region competing and a founding member of the Girls Academy League, a national league of many of the most competitive clubs in the country.
